AEA 3D Animation

Advanced Engineering Associates has been performing accident reconstructions of all types for twenty years. A few years ago we purchased the ultimate 3D software, 3D Studio. Coupled with our powerful computers, photographic and video capture capabilities, and software (including Adobe Photoshop, Photomodeler, and AutoCad) we can render highly realistic animations. 3D Studio is the type of software used in films such as Shrek and WALL-E.

Realistic scene representation is only part of the animation. The important element is, of course, precise engineering-based reconstruction of the accident. To accurately reconstruct the accident, we use a variety of commercially available software such as EDCRASH and Expert Autostats, as well as our own programming capabilities. The in-house engineering capabilities aid in the development and construction of the appropriate scene for maximum effectiveness in the courtroom. Scene photographs, police photographs, vehicle photographs, engineering survey measurements, crush analysis of the vehicles, along with our reconstruction expertise and computer hardware/software allow us to produce accurate reconstructions.

The cost of a reconstruction and animation is always of concern. By providing both the reconstruction and animation, we can save our customers money because interaction time between separate companies is eliminated. The complexity of a reconstruction and the detail of a 3D animation affect the cost. It generally takes 20 to 40 hours to perform a reconstruction. Similarly, animations require 40 to 60 hours or more.
